Lily Lan Chen

Lily’s mission is to use the art of beauty to help people find happiness. As a young girl, Lily would experiment with different hair styles, fashion looks and fragrances. She discovered that with the right combinations she not only looked better but was more confident and felt better about herself. Since then, she has dedicated her life to helping others “look better and feel better.”

After 15 years of working at high-end hair salons in New York and Macau, Lily opened the Lily Lan Chen 84 salon in August of 2018.  Located in New York’s Greenwich Village, the salon offers a full range of hair styling, coloring, cutting, scalp treatment and beauty services.

Taking a deeply personalized approach to helping her clients, Lily begins by understanding where people are on their life journey and what motivates them. She then customizes a beauty solution – scalp and hair treatments, make-up – to elevate her clients to an enhanced level of confidence. She has successfully applied her art to help individuals of all ages and ethnicities and has built a particularly strong following among women.

Lily has always believed that the key to beautiful, healthy hair is a healthy scalp. She recently noticed that her clients, particularly her younger clients, suffer from premature hair loss and hair graying. Lily has helped slow and, in some instances reverse these trends, through a bespoke combination of products and scalp health regimes. She is a firm believer that one must start a healthy scalp and hair treatment regime early in life.

Core to Lily’s success is her ability to innovate and bring new products and experiences to her clients. Whether it is experimenting with local fragrances in Paris, walking the streets of New York or studying medical history, Lily gains insights into beauty, health and wellness at every step along the way.
